Privacy Policy

We (Wood Woman) are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our visitors to our web site and subscribers to our newsletter.

Here you’ll find the legally required information on how we treat data that we collect from visitors to our website, or when someone subscribes to our newsletter. This policy (together with our terms of use and any other documents referred to on it) sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us.

Visitors to Our Website

When someone visits our website we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website. You can find more information on how cookies are used on this website in the Cookies Policy here.

We may also ask you for information when you report a problem with our site.
  • If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence.
  • We may also ask you to complete surveys that we use for research purposes, although you do not have to respond to them and these are anonymous.
  • Details of your visits to our site and the resources that you access.
  • Details of transactions you carry out through our site, including invoicing, collecting payment and of the fulfilment of your orders.

We refer to this information as “Order Information.” Order Information is not directly handled by us, it is managed through secure PCI compliant gateways.
  • We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns and occasionally to provide targeted advertising to you based on your previous activity on our site).

When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both about Device Information and Order Information.

Photography

We often take pictures of our workshops-in-progress to use on our website, social media accounts and in other promotional material. Whilst we do not require your permission or a model release form under UK law, we would prefer to do this with your approval and will assume that it is implicitly given when you attend our workshops unless you tell us otherwise.

We will not take or publish pictures of anyone under the age of 16 without permission from their parents.

Sensitive Personal Information

We don’t collect any sensitive personal information from you. Your gender, religion, abilities, sexuality and anything else that you deem none of our business, is quite rightly none of our business.

However, if you have any particular requirements to help you enjoy the classes as much as possible, and you would like to have some alternative support, then please feel free to get in touch in advance so that we can do our best to offer this to you.

We may disclose your personal information to third parties:

  • In the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets.
